Five families, three grades. Silver is the lowest damage and can be infused. Gold is the middle grade and needs a skill before infusion. Onyx is the top grade and cannot be infused. That wording is from the Fandom weapons page and the Oct 2025 beginner guide, not from a damage spreadsheet.

Questions people ask
What is an Onyx greatsword?
Onyx is the top grade: highest damage in the qualitative notes, and it cannot be infused. The greatsword itself is bought at Rosemary Pit. See the greatsword page.
Which weapon is strongest?
I will not rank them. The wiki only says lowest, moderate, and highest by grade. There is no damage number on the cards.
